OSHO MY WORDS CAN CHANGE THE WHOLE HUMAN HEART

 
THE MESSAGE OF THE MASTER has to be contained in a word or in words. So don't think that words are not powerful. Ordinary, mundane words have no power, they have only utility. But when the enlightened man speaks, the word has no utility, it simply has a tremendous power to transform your heart.

So when I say, "Spread the word," I mean whatever I have been telling you, go on spreading in as many ways as possible. USE ALL THE NEWS MEDIA, USE EVERYTHING THAT TECHNOLOGY HAS PROVIDED, SO THAT THE WORD REACHES TO EVERY NOOK AND CORNER OF THE EARTH.

And remember, it is far more powerful than any nuclear weapons -- because nuclear weapons can only bring death. That is not power. BUT THE WORD WHICH HAS COME FROM AN ENLIGHTENED CONSCIOUSNESS CAN BRING NEW LIFE TO YOU -- it can give you rebirth, resurrection. That is power. Destroying something, any idiot can do. Creating needs intelligence.

I WILL BE LEAVING WORDS OF IMMENSE POTENTIALITY FOR YOU. If you can simply go on whispering them, you will be surprised that THEY CAN CHANGE THE WHOLE HUMAN HEART!

If the word has come from the awakened consciousness, as it reaches within you it becomes sound -- because meaning is of the mind. Deeper than mind is no-meaning, just sound. But there is still a depth where sound disappears into silence. THE TRUE WORD, THE AUTHENTIC WORD, ALWAYS CREATES SILENCE IN YOU. That is the criterion of its power -- that it is not empty. It contains sound, the sound contains silence, and silence is the nature of existence.

Ch #38: Death is others' opinion about you

Tale 58 ~ 100 Tales For 10,000 Buddhas

After wearing this orange dress for two days, I wash it and go to the morning discourse in my ordinary clothes. When He looks at me, I feel He is not happy about my wearing other clothes. There is a question in His look, “What has happened to the orange dress?”

I can’t understand it. How can I wear one dress for all these days?

After discourse, I am called in His room. I am scared as if I have committed some crime and I have to face the judge in the court. I enter in His room like a sheep. He is sitting on a chair with His eyes closed, and I sit on the floor near His feet. I feel relaxed, wrapped in His invisible fragrance. I can’t resist fazing at His radiant face. He opens His eyes and smiles at me. All my fear vanishes away.

He says, “You have to distribute all your other clothes to your friends and wear only orange.” I ask Him, “How can I go to the office in orange dress? People will laugh and think I have gone mad.” He laughs and says, “You are mad. Let people laugh, you can also laugh with them.” Seeing me confused, He says, “It is up to you. You decide whether you want to be a Sannyasin or not.” His voice is strong and He is really serious about Sannyas. He gets up and goes to the bathroom, leaving me in total confusion.

A special meeting is arranged in the evening in His living room, where He explains to us about His Neo-Sannyas movement. I leave the meeting with a heavy heart. I can’t digest this heavy dose. We have to live in our homes, continue our jobs and wear orange clothes and Mala around our neck. It sounds easy but does not seem practical. I am unable to sleep the whole night. When I visualize the whole scene of going to my home and office in orange clothes, my mind simply freaks out.

Lying in my bed, I can see my mind, wrestling with Osho. Finally, my love and trust for Osho wins and realizing its utter failure, my mind calms down and surrenders to the master. I whisper to myself, “Thy will be done, Oh Beloved of my heart.”

Meditation camp at Manali has started. Today, I go to see Osho in my regular clothes. He asks me, “Where is your orange dress? Why have you put it on?” I tell Him, “I will put it tomorrow.”

Next morning, I am dressed in my orange lunghi and kurta and have come to see Him before discourse with my girl friend Veena from Bombay. We both are waiting in the living room with much excitement. After a few minutes, He comes out of the bathroom. His face is very radiant with an aura of light around Him. He greets me with a big smile as I go neat Him to touch His feet. He blesses me placing His hand on my head.

As I get up, He says, “You look good in this dress. Now you are a Sannyasin. What name should be given to you?” He places a huge Mala with big beads around my neck. I am just surprised, not knowing what is going on. I take it all as a joke and simply laugh. He looks at Veena, and the name ‘Jyoti’ slips out of her mouth. Osho likes this name and says, “It is good name but not complete. ‘Dharm Jyoti’ will be the right name for you.” It all happens standing in the living room. That is how I am initiated into Sannyas. Not a big deal. I feel pulled towards Him and hug Him. He receives my hug, showering all His love on me by placing His hand on my head. I feel drowned in utter silence and joy.

Osho – Whatsoever you know will really hinder your search

Osho – Mind is incapable of knowing the truth. It can gather all kinds of information about truth, but to know about truth is not to know truth. To know about love is not to know love. To know love one needs to be a lover. No information can be of any help; one has to go into the experience itself.
And the same is true about truth. You can know all the great philosophers of the world, you can accumulate great words, theories, hypotheses and you can come to certain arbitrary conclusions of your own. But remember, they are arbitrary because they are not rooted in your experience. So whatsoever you know will really hinder your search. That is the greatest danger in knowledge: it can give you a false notion that you know. And once that wrong idea enters in you that “I know,” then the inquiry stops.
One has to know that one knows not. One has to put aside all information for and against, theistic, atheistic, Christian, Hindu, Mohammedan, religious, philosophical.
One has to put aside every kind of knowledge — knowledge as such. Then the inquiry begins. Then one becomes a true seeker of truth because then one is open. Out of that state of not-knowing, one day the great blessing happens that one comes to experience truth, to live it; one becomes it.
That is the state called enlightenment, nirvana. In the West they have called it the state of Christ-consciousness, in the East we have called it the state of Buddha-consciousness, but it is the same. By becoming a sannyasin you are taking a jump from mind to no-mind, from knowledge to innocence. And once innocence is there everything else follows.
